January 2024
Dear William T. Rogers Middle School Learning Community,
Happy New Year!
As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a joyful, healthy, and prosperous New Year. The start of a new year brings with it a unique opportunity—a chance to reflect, reset, and embrace a fresh start. Whether it’s breaking old habits, setting new goals, or simply committing to being a better version of ourselves, the possibilities are endless.
Personally, I am taking this opportunity to focus on cultivating a healthy mind and body. I encourage you to join me in finding ways to prioritize your well-being, whether it’s through a new hobby, a focus on mindfulness, or engaging in physical activity. Let’s support one another in making 2025 a year of positive change and growth!
January is a lighter month in our calendar, giving us all some breathing room as we ease into the New Year. Here are some key dates to note:

- Board of Education Meetings: Tuesday, January 14th and 28th at 7:30 PM.
- Days Off: Monday, January 20th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) and Wednesday, January 29th (Asian Lunar New Year).
- Midterms: World Language in-class exams will be on January 23rd and 24th. During the week of January 27th, we will follow an abbreviated schedule with one midterm per day:
- Social Studies: Monday, January 27th
- ELA: Tuesday, January 28th
- Math: Thursday, January 30th
- Science: Friday, January 31st
- The second marking period ends on January 31st.
Looking ahead, please save the dates for this year’s much-anticipated school musical, Alice in Wonderland, which will take place on February 6th, 7th, and 8th. It promises to be an incredible show that you won’t want to miss!
As we begin this New Year together, I wish you a wonderful January filled with excitement for what’s to come. Thank you for being such an amazing community, and I look forward to all the incredible events, opportunities, and memories we’ll create together in 2025.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph Pesqueira
